As an art educator, I believe it is important to continue practicing and sharing art. This is a selection of my work, spanning from the beginning of my undergraduate studies to the present.

Watercolor Illustrations

2024

I created these illustrations as part of a children's lit style study. You may recognize text from Edwin Morgan's poem Strawberries, as well as a re-imagining of Red Riding Hood as a young wolf. I am currently developing a children's story, which I hope to complete alongside my career as an educator.

Digital Collage Illustrations

2023

For my senior exhibition at the University of New Haven, I chose to illustrate the novel Frankenstein using a combination of traditional and digital collage. I gathered, cut, and painted the images I wanted, then scanned them into Adobe Illustrator to create the final compositions.

Memory Paintings

2022-2024

This is a selection from a series of acrylic paintings I created based on fragments of very early childhood memories. Things are hazy, foreign, scary, and contradictory. Some of the paintings are based on childhood photos of mine, and others are based on other people's childhood photos that I found secondhand. I found the image of a wild animal compelling, in that being a child is about learning to be a human animal in an unknown world.

Although not all these paintings depict myself, I think of them on the same timeline, when I was trying to understand myself better.
